I love the location, the view, the peace and quite. The place has lots of charm. Very comfortable bed and nice decor. Much more private than a chain motel in town would be.
I didn't get the place I rented. I was told after I got to the place I would be in a different cabin and I would have to climb up a very steep hill. Never told this. I wouldn't have booked this cabin at all. No one really greets you when you arrive. Find it out for yourself. There are different instructions texted to you as your leaving. I had knee surgery and after staying at this place I had to go back to physical therapy. I couldn't enjoy banner elk because of being in pain. My friend had to help me up and down that awful hill. I hope I can get a refund because it cost me more to stay at this place than to be at this place. We stayed away from the cabin because of the hill. We couldn't enjoy the scenery because we were so far up in the trees you couldn't see anything around you. Except for the back of the first cabin. The place isn't very safe. The shower is a stall as stated in the description, but if you don't put something down on the bottom of the shower you will slip and fall. Valle Crucis is hard to find and the direction was hard to read. They need a better map, GPS isn't great in the mountains. TV is hard to function and to get the channels. This is a lot of money to not enjoy this trip. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Working at a hospital and needing the vacation, I have a lot of co-workers and I could have given this place a tremendous amount of business. Safety is not there first thought.
